Student Leadership, Clubs & Activities

The Student Council has as its primary purpose the development of student responsibility and leadership from a Christian point of view.  It serves fellow students, promotes a good relationship between the student body and the faculty, and promotes the general welfare of the school. The Student Council is composed of 19 students including a president, a secretary, a treasurer, three representatives from each class and the class presidents. The members are elected by their classmates.

The purpose of the Luther High National Honor Society (NHS) is for the members to use their God-given talents to create enthusiasm for scholarships, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, and develop character.

Luther’s robotics program goes beyond wheels and screws. It is a family made up of students and mentors that are fixed on creating intelligent designs and new solutions to old problems. We are dedicated to using our varied abilities to engineer, build, communicate, support, and design. Each member does their part towards the final goal – a robot that is the combination of all the teammates’ talent, as well as building a community along the way.

Luther High School’s Trap Club provides students with a unique opportunity to develop focus, discipline, responsibility, and sportsmanship in a safe and supportive environment. Through participation in competitive trap shooting, students build confidence, strengthen teamwork skills, and learn the importance of safety, respect, and personal accountability. The club welcomes students of varying experience levels and encourages growth both individually and as a team. In addition to developing marksmanship skills, students create lasting friendships, represent Luther High School in competition, and experience the value of perseverance, dedication, and positive leadership.

The Pro-life Knights is a branch organization of the WELS Lutherans for Life-La Crosse Chapter. Our purpose is to educate and inform Luther High students about what God’s Word says about all life issues. It is our hope that well-informed students will be able to speak boldly and confidently to others. Specific topics dealing with the sanctity of life are: abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, suicide, and abstinence. Membership is open to every student.

Luther High School’s Ice Fishing Club gives students the opportunity to enjoy Wisconsin’s outdoor traditions while building friendships, teamwork, and lifelong skills. Through hands-on experiences on the ice, students learn patience, responsibility, problem-solving, and outdoor safety in a fun and encouraging environment. The club welcomes students of all experience levels and promotes respect for nature, sportsmanship, and perseverance. Beyond fishing itself, students benefit from spending time outdoors, connecting with peers who share similar interests, and developing confidence and independence through unique real-world experiences.

Luther High School’s Ski & Snowboarding Club gives students the opportunity to experience the excitement of winter sports while enjoying time with classmates in a relaxed and energetic setting. Students can sharpen their skills on the slopes, try something new, and challenge themselves through outdoor adventure and recreation. The club encourages personal growth through goal setting, resilience, and learning new techniques, while also providing students with memorable experiences beyond the school day. Whether carving down the hill on skis or a snowboard, students enjoy an activity that promotes confidence, recreation, and school connection during the winter season.
