Wisconsin Parental Choice Program

Luther High School will be participating in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program, which is a part of the Private School Choice Programs.  Schools that participate in the program receive a state aid payment for each eligible student on behalf of the student’s parent or guardian.

Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) will have student application information for the 2019-20 school year available in late January 2019.  The open application period is February 1 – APRIL 20, 2019.  Please use the following links for more information:

2018-19 School Calendar/Schedule Modified

With Luther’s entrance into the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program, modifications to the daily class schedule and to the school calendar were necessary.  The Board of Control approved the necessary modifications at its December meeting so that Luther’s calendar, and in particular, hours of instructions during the school year, would meet the standards set forth by the Parental Choice Program.

Changes to school day include starting one day earlier (August 21) and adding 5 school days back into the calendar (Nov. 2, Jan. 21, Feb. 1, 15 and Mar. 18).  In addition, the semester exam testing days will be condensed from 4 days to 3 days of testing.

Another change you will notice is the length of the school day.  Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, the school day will begin at 7:50 am and end at 3:00 pm (currently 7:54-2:50).  Class hours will increase from 43 to 45 minutes per class.

The revised School Year Calendar and Daily Class Schedule may be found on the Luther website on the CALENDAR page under STUDENT LIFE.
