LHS 2016-17 Milestones PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 31 May 2017 11:12

Based on Nehemiah 2:18, the Luther High School theme for the 2016-2017 school year was “Rise Up & Build.”  Indeed, much building went on throughout the year.  The building of faith has always been a focus at Luther High.  Students worked to build for the future in a variety of activities include Christ-focused learning, extracurricular activities, and volunteer opportunities.

The school structure itself mirrored the united efforts of building and growth.  The construction of a new ACE Entrance, Chapel Auditorium, and additional classrooms marked a physical reminder of the school’s Association congregations & their efforts to support the future of Christian high school education.  Many congregational volunteers, students, faculty, and businesses all shared efforts in this common goal.

The school year was marked with consideration of divine Calls and milestones in ministry.  Pastor Jon Bilitz, Jason Hagedorn, and Becky Lussky conclude their faithful service on Luther’s faculty at the school year’s end.  Marion Radichel retired also. Connie Bader (25 years), Mark Loersch (25 years), Brad Schaper (25 years), and Paul Wichmann (40 years) observed teaching anniversaries.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW THEIR CLOSING ARTICLES.  (link: https://indd.adobe.com/view/84e55810-9ad9-4dae-8522-8616b1ffb99e)

As our Graduates now become Alumni, we welcome them to stay in touch with Luther High School.  We also welcome our Association congregational members to continue to become involved in the ministry and mission of Luther High through their combined support.  May our connection shared through the school be a reminder of the gracious God who never has and never will leave us as we journey along the path of life, and may God continue to bless the mission of keeping Christ in high school education!

We would like to thank everybody involved in making The Big Knight 2017 a huge success!  We netted over $85,000 that evening.  Most of the proceeds will be going to the Tuition Assistance Fund, although $10,000 will go towards non-budgeted items in the three new classroom additions.  Without the help of many this night would not have been possible.  Mark your calendar for April 20, 2018, next year’s Big Knight!
